I don't think "home" for 360 won't happen anytime soon, just because most of the current Live users (based on language used on Live) do not want to play with Barbies.
There are better formats coming up already. So we can't be sure how long blu-ray will be the number one media (what comes to discs).
I'm sure Blu-ray has helped PS3 to survive, just because so many people have bought it as a blu-ray player instead of console. This can be seen if looking the numbers of games sold per console, which really is low number for PS3 compared to 360 for example.
As a gamer point of view, 360 with blu-ray sounds much more tempting choice than...
HD-DVD was (is) a choice. It doesn't come with the console. Games do not need HD-DVD.
Blu-ray will be a choice as well (if it ever comes). It won't be coming with the console. You buy it if you want to watch movies.
Xbox360 is about games in the end. MS is just offering some extra to people who wants them.
You need a bit more than CoD4 to kill Halo franchise. CoD is great franchise but not nearly as celebrated as Halo. Halo is phenomenon.
The game that kills Halo will be something new, it is not going to be a sequel or 4th part of some game franchise that already exists.

Well, I chose 360 because I happen to like the games. I bought standalone blu-ray player for HD movies (faster than PS3 one). 360 games don't come in HD discs so you dont HAVE TO buy HD-DVD drive even if you buy 360.
If you want blu-ray and like PS3 games then obviously it is your choice.
Just because of the games, 360 happens to be my cup of tea.

I guess I am too old to go and change my clothes and hairs style and be posh while playing some virtual pool tables with tens of other users (kids).
I purely wanna be able to play my games I have bought/downloaded without any hassle in some virtual "hotel" like environment. I personally think this HOME thing will just slow me down if I try to start playing using it as a launching base.
Technology is old, only the presentation is innovative, but also a rip off from the Back to the Future 2 :)

Common sense to do this. Why keep high numbers that you most likely won't reach.
It does not hurt so much if you lower your goals and come closer to the new number.

..and you think Sony's HOME is new and innovative? Wrong, they copied it from the so many other game sites where you can run around in 3D environments or 2D world. Meet up people and play with them, change your outfit and do customizing etc. Have a room and decorate it.
Yep Sony ain't inventing anything with Home, it is just implementing the OLD concept. MS has all right to copy the same sources that Sony is doing and besides if we nitpick (don't care really) Sony copied the game...
